- When your tire is broken (puncture, nail in it, ...).
- When the legal tread depth of 1.6 mm is reached.
- If the tire is too old. It is not possible to say in general terms when a tire is too old, as this depends very much on various factors: How often is the tire used? What weather conditions is it exposed to? How is it stored? What speeds is the tire exposed to? Our tip: Check your tires regularly for signs of wear and age. These include deformation and cracks.
- Whenever your tire looks "funny" and shows unusual signs of wear. One-sided wear, cracks, etc. The rule here is: better safe than sorry. It is also a good idea to check where the misbehavior is coming from. The reasons are often incorrect balancing, mechanical problems with the gearbox, shock absorbers or similar.
- Mount the tire on the shaft and place it in the tire changer
- Deflate the tire
- Press the tire off the rim with the bead breaker arm (some force is required here). If you are afraid of scratching the rim, you can use our practical rim protector
- Press off at four positions so that the tire is down everywhere
- Lubricate everything well with mounting paste
- Lift the tire off the rim once all around with the mounting head and the mounting lever
